President Obama's Stimulus Package Assignment

1. The stimulus package is an Act of Congress providing for several kinds of economic stimulus intended to boost the United States. The purpose of the package is to help out the economy. The stimulus package is necessary because its made to help energy bills, science and technology, Infrastructure, Education, and Health Care.

2. The disagreements are basically about how the Republicans believe that the package is too expensive. As Obama says they cant worry about how that will hurt them because it wont even hurt them that bad. The Stimulus is necessary because its not like the money is for something unnecessary, its to insure that we dont go through another Great Depression. Its to prevent millions of people from being laid off. Its to help people who dont have health care and etc.

3. The spending details are $58 billion for Energy, $16 billion for science and technology, $92 billion for infrastructure, $141 billion for Education, $153 billion Health Care.

5. I do feel that the package will help Afrikan Americans because I know that alot of my cousins are graduating this year and their parent dont have enough money to afford 4 or more years of college. Now that we have this Stimulus package they can at least get scholarships to help them get through college.

BARACK OBAMA'S CIVIL RIGHTS POLICY

Obama has some great things that he wants to do in office but not alla his ideas are great. Some that I personally dont agree with are the expand of adoption rights and the fact that he supports same sex marriges. I mean if thats how people want to live their lives than thats their descision but i dont think that they should be able to adopt because if a child grows up in that type of environment than they will grow up thinking that thats ok, it normal. Just by doin that a whole generation could be influenced by that. I dont agree with same sex marriges because i personally dont think that god intended for man and man or woman and woman to be together. I only think this way because thats how I was raised maybe others were raised around those type of people. This is just my personal opinion.

Analysis:this song is very degrading for women. Its basically about these girls that he has "been" with. I think as an african american woman its ashame that we are bein named by things we aren't even doing. We are judged as a whole.

How to make our history class better

My name is Lexus Medley. I am 13 years old. I am a very fast learner and I love reading. I think our history class should be hands on, interesting and exciting, more about black history.


One of the things that I think would make this class run more smoothly is hands on learning. I think its easier for students to learn when we are more involved. For example, if your just talking and making us read a bunch of books, we will lose interest. Not saying that everyday should be play day but keep the students involved.


Another thing that I think would help is if you kept the lessons interesting and exciting. If the students are bored the they wont pay attention or care not saying that you have to do everyday like a circus. Just dont sit up there and talk and read.


The last thing that I think would make this class is more black history. Personally I have been to alot of schools and it wasn't until I came to this school that there is not only white history there is black history as well. I mean there is nothing wrong with other history but I think as african american children who are ignorant to their own culture. We should be taught our own history we learn about anyone elses.


In conclusion I think that these ideas should help our history class be more successful. I look forward to having you teach our class. And hope we have a good rest of the year.

Opening Ceremony

1. The virtue that I held dear during the cicle of lights was CONFIDENCE.
2. Every night before I go to bed i pray that god gives me confidence and strength to use my gifts to my best ability.
3. During the walk of faith my mother told me that she wasn't expecting another child and she went to have an abortion but the lady said she was too far along. But when she had decided to keep me her doctor said that she was early in pregnancy, so it was at that moment that she realized that I was meant to be here. She said that from day one she always knew I was special that she knew I was going to be smart and talented that I was god's gift to her.
